Pupil Premium
WHAT IS PUPIL PREMIUM?
The government believes that the Pupil Premium, which is additional to main school funding, is the best way to address the current underlying inequalities between children eligible for free school meals (FSM) and their peers by ensuring that funding to tackle disadvantage reaches the pupils who need it most.
Funding is allocated for pupils who are registered as eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) at any point in the last 6 years or are Looked After Children. Schools also receive funding for children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months and children of service personnel.
PUPIL PREMIUM AT HAWLEY PRIMARY SCHOOL
At Hawley Primary School, we aim for our children to come to school feeling happy and safe, engaged in the learning they have on offer within the classroom and enthusiastic about the opportunities they are presented with throughout their primary school journey. We strive to ensure that all children have access to high quality teaching and adult support. Progress is monitored and approaches adapted based on every child’s needs. We want all children to achieve the best standard of education, as well as be able to celebrate their successes in wider school activities. We prioritise children’s well-being and emotional development, in order to make sure children come to school knowing that they are valued and healthy each day.
Please read the information below which gives details of our Pupil Premium Grant and how we allocate the funding.
